We bought this truck as a fun project, something outside of our normal. It had been sitting for a number of years. We don't really know the history of this truck. It is extremely well built and strong. We have hauled a few VWs on it, along with a 5,000 lb VW Touareg. We completely serviced it and made it into a safe, running, driving, and towing work truck! It runs and drives well, especially considering it's 40 years old. We know the engine was replaced at 85,000 miles based on a sticker on the 'B' pillar.

Perhaps the best part of this truck is its simplicity and usability. You can drive or winch vehicles up it's ramps. It also has a sling included to be used as tow truck. We haven't used the sling at this time. A custom built ladder attaches to brackets on either side (see photo) for easy access to the top. Trailer wiring & auxiliary wiring ports are built into the back bumper area (see photos), allowing virtually any kind of electrical hook-up.

That's a lot of good stuff. Most of the mechanical and 'heavy duty' items are finished and working. Lights, Brake Lights, Signals, Horn, Wipers, all working. Some non-functional air conditioning components are still installed.

The interior is in good, usable shape, again considering it's 40 years old. No rips or tears in upholstery. The dash exhibits a few cracks and the headliner is sagging. 

Known issues:

Right front fender is rusted (see photos).

The gauge cluster illumination doesn't work and there is some loose wiring under the dash.

While the truck runs and drives well, it exhibits some hesitation off the line. Recommend rebuilding the carburetor.

For the someone inclined to start a towing service, haul their race car around, do local tows, etc, this truck fits the bill! With just a little bit more work, this could be a really nice truck.
